is Pleased to Present an Economical Alternative to
Residential/Outpatient Treatment in Ocala, Florida

For people suffering with severe eating disorders, residential or inpatient treatment is often needed to normalize eating habits and stabilize medical complications. Only then does the “emotional work” of therapy really begin. However, inpatient programs are expensive and time consuming, and patient stays are getting shorter and shorter. As a result, many patients do not resolve the core issues underlying the disorder –they leave treatment, only to relapse again, and again. For those without insurance, finding cost-effective treatment is especially difficult.

Fortunately, there is now another option for Marion County residents.

Ocala Recovery is a revolving 4-day, intensive, outpatient therapy program designed specifically for Eating Disorders and Obesity. It is an emotionally-based treatment designed to identify and resolve the confusion of thoughts and feelings driving the disorder.

 The treatment Focus is:

  • EXPOSE the underlying emotional conflicts and traumatic issues responsible for trigering and maintaining disordered eating behaviors & patterns.
  •
  • FACILITATE change in the way individuals experience, understand and deal with emotional conflicts.
  •
  • SUPPORT development of new coping strategies to replace old ones, including emotional/compulsive eating, purging, restricting and/or over-exercising.

Please note: This program is focused on the psychological aspects of disordered eating and NOT on stabilizing medically compromised individuals.

 PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Ocala Recovery is a 4-day, intensive, outpatient day program that is offered once a month. Given the entrenched nature of eating disorders, the program is not designed to be a single, one-week program, although it may be for some individuals. The amount and frequency of participation will be collaboratively determined between the individual and the treatment team. The revolving monthly schedule allows participants flexibility for both when they start, and “how many” weeks (units) they need, depending on their needs, schedule, life events, and other circumstances.

  • The 4-day week (unit) runs Monday through Thursday
  • A maximum of 8 individuals will be admitted for each 4-day unit.
  • Hours: 9AM to 5 PM
  • Meal Support Therapy is included (lunch)

The ideal candidates for Ocala Recovery will be individuals who are:

  • Over 16 years old
  • Medically stable
  • Currently in (or have had previous) psychotherapy
  • Curious, interested, and capable of tolerating deep, emotionally-based, insight-oriented work.
